I think the hardest thing in life is to be proud of who you are. We always strive to be better and we are our own worst critic. At least I know I am. That's how I work. But we have to stop, stand still for a minute to look at what we have accomplished. Look at where you are now. Look your self in the mirror and be proud. Then treat yourself as you would a friend..or a sister/brother..
What would you say to them?
Constructive criticism is good of course but you have to find the good qualities too and point them out. "Jen, today you were awesome..you did your best and I'm proud of you..".. I wanna find peace with myself. Love what's there. Be your own team cheering for you. If something didn't go right tell yourself to shake it off..Let it go. That's what you would say to someone on your team right?
So why can't you do that for yourself?
Bad excuse..
You gotta be there for you too!
I think the positive starts in you..with you.
It's ok to vent, let it out of your system..Everything isn't dandy all the time!
Don't surpress that..Let it out in the open..write it on a piece of paper if you have to because all it is, is negative energy and if you keep that inside it could turn into resentment even sickness!
Say what you feel but don't forget to give yourself a pad on the back because if it wasn't for you, you wouldn't be where you are now..

Love Sick

About a year ago I was in pain. My heart was aching badly because it was forsaken it was taken advantage of. I never thought I would ever get over it. But as time went on and me putting a stop to the game I slowly became myself again. It's hard for me to function when I am love sick I become weak and weary, I put things on hold. I know that I am able to love again and the lessons I've learned are tucked in. I'm an emotional person, I have a deep heart. You just have to find the right person who will take care of it as you would. But until then...I'm aware!

Respect to me is to treat everyone like they're an equal. Considering their feelings and circumstances. I don't respect someone because of what they have, what they own or who they know. I respect them for who they are. The more you talk about what you have and who you know and what you can do, the more I tune out. I need to see action. Don't teat me like you're better then me. Don't give me ultimatums. This is why I started to work for myself and not for a corporate office. This is why I hated to work as a waitress. Because management would treat you like a child and costumers would talk to you like you were stupid and talk to you like you were worth nothing. Do they even hear them selfs, would they talk like that to their own mother, father or daughter?
It angers me..

We R All an Out Come of Our Upbringing.

There are things I'm not so proud of in my past. But they are elements to who I am today. And even if some things were hard and unpleasant that doesn't mean I turned out that way but instead it thought me what to be or what not to be.

I was a tomboy growing up. I looked up to my big brother and wanted to hang out with him and his friends. I remember playing a ping pong game with them. It's called "Rumpa" in swedish. Basically everyone in the room are going around the table hitting the ball until there's only two people left. I was of course always a target and when it was my turn they made their biggest effort to smash me out of the game. Of course I have always been very competitive so I made sure to practice my chops and after a while there was NO way anyone could smash me out of the game. In fact I got quite good at it and not too long ago I played my brother a game of ping pong and beat his butt. It felt good:)(I have witnesses!! *smile*). He was also a very good soccer player and I wanted to be just like him. This just explains why I am most comfortable around guy friends & why I got so damn good at sports *wink*

My mother has always been an inspiration to me. She was strict but fair and always kind to me and others. She was always everyone's extra mom. She would help out kids in school who always got in trouble. She would be their mentor and make them feel like there is hope, because we all know that there is a reason why these children are acting up and they need someone who is there for them someone who cares, someone to guide them in the right direction. She also worked with handicapped children. Every step of the way I was there. This is why I have compassion for less fortunate people. My mom was a singer as well and she was in a few plays. I grew up in rehearsal studios and theaters. This is where I feel at home. I think my mother has the most beautiful voice on the planet.

I grew up in Sweden with my mom and my dad lived in the states. Children grow up in the blink of an eye but every tender moment is remembered. Every birthday, every christmas, every soccer game, every concert, every play...felt empty because I wished that he would have been there. But how could he?
He was on the other side of the planet. There was an excuse. But that is something that a child can't comprehend. I had no close father figure in my life. My mother's father never made an effort to be in our lives. My father's father died when I was 1 years old and my stepfather never made me feel like I was important. This is why I find it hard to trust men. Of course there are many things I could add to this. things that have happend. Painful things. Broken promises, misunderstandings..One thing I really have a hard time dealing with is people not doing what they say or not acknowledging the important things, the things that are big to you. But because of these experiences I make sure to be somewhere if I say so, if it's an important time in someone's life I make sure to make an effort to be there no matter what.

I've been yelled at, I've been bullied in school, I've been emotionally & physically abused. There were times in my life when I thought I was worth nothing and wondered, are there really any good reasons why I should still exists. I have insecurities. Things that have scarred me for life. But because of this, everyday I try to be the best I can be. I try to analyse who I really am. I try to embrace it. I am not perfect but I have empathy, I have sympathy, I love unconditionally, I see no colors, I see no race, I find the beauty in everything, I look into people's hearts, into their past, I see their truth and I except. I get angry when people are narrow minded. Open your eyes because we are all different. Find out why people are the way they are because they have their story. They have scars.

Everyday we meet people and every single one of them are giving you a gift, an experience to become the person you are meant to be. Even if it's a brief moment in time. It makes you think.

Man it's Saturday.. Do you know what women my age are doing right now?
They're out in clubs partying, trying get a man, trying to keep a man not ME.. I'm trying to create music and freakin' make a living as a musician!
I've got a 24hr reminder on my wall telling me what my goal is, I've had 2 lovers in 3 years..ALL achingly self efficient all friends of friends I might add and all running a distent second to take me home. I MEAN LOOK at me people! I'm the oldest 30 year old in the world!
Oh well back to writing some songs I guess.. about my past, present and future..

There's Hope!

I just got back from my home country, Sweden. It is the heart of me. I love coming back to visit my family and my friends that are so close to me. To see familiar faces, going to familiar places. I've realized that when you're from a small town where even the old man walking down the street looks familiar it's hard when you come back to visit and you see faces but you're not sure if it's someone you once knew or if it's just someone you saw all the time but never knew.

I do a lot of reflecting when I go out of town. A lot of it on the airplane. It seems to be the one place where I don't feel bad about reading a magazine or a book instead of working on something I'm supposed be working on like my carrer. There's never enough time! I don't even watch TV very much.
I have to say that I REALLY enjoy reading Swedish magazines. I go straight to the pages where you can read about how to better yourself or read about how to get over your ex or how how do make your own cremes for your face or hair with natural fruits. This summer I'm gonna take some of the tips from the magazines I've read. I really love them because it's written with a swedish mentality where it's ok to be exactly who you are flaws and all. They aren't trying to sell you anything. It's something you can trust. It's not to bad bash on my other half (which is American) but sometimes I feel that everywhere we go or whatever we read or see and maybe even talk to sometimes, something is being sold to you. Someone has a show that they want you to go to, or a club, come eat! Come to this, come to that, do this, do that...But you know in these times where social networking is so huge!! We have come to realize that the REAL trick to SELL is really just to be exactly WHO YOU ARE. Don't even talk about your product. But talk to people in person or online and have information about your product on your page or with you in case the subject comes up. Especially if your product is your music.
I saw this really interesting thing online about a guy named Gary Vaynerchuck. Supposably he is VERY VERY successful with his business. But he hardly even talks about his business, he just talks to people and he doesn't JUST TALK to people he actually cares what they say and responds out of true care and this is something that is revolutionary to me. I think it's awesome because I really don't like talking about myself. I like to be in a conversation about all kinds of things. I want people to like me for me and if they don't like me then hopefully they will stay away ('cause I will argue with them just to find out why and for them to have a good reason).. *smile*
I guess this blog just kind of turned into a publicly open brainstorm session ha!
Anyways I think we all should be exactly who we are and love it because when you love yourself in all aspects there won't be any jealousy there won't be any greed. Each day I find out something about myself and each day I'm growing and slowly I'm starting to truly love me.

Sometime I wonder if I will ever heal. I'm broken when it comes to relationships. Too afraid to let anyone in. Afraid to love. Seems like whenever I have let anyone in I end up losing them.
I can't even give a proper hug. Any type of closeness I stray away from. I don't want to be like this. At times I wish I couldn't feel at all or that I could just be completely open and not afraid of being hurt.
I'm not so sure how far back in my life this took affect but it wasn't too long ago that I realized that I have a problem.
If it wasn't for my best friend in Sweden I'm not sure if I would be affectionate at all today. She would embrace me as a person, hug me and tell me how much she loved me and in the beginning I would just stand there like a stick if she hugged me and as time went by I got better at returning the love. But up until this day I'm still afraid of losing her.
My first boyfriend would be very affectionate as well and I was very cold at times. I tried using the same gestures as my best friend. I forced myself and over time I became better at it.
But even though he showed me he cared I didn't believe it was true. How could someone love me?
I remember laying next to him being happy thinking that this is the best time of my life in silence. I couldn't possibly show him or tell him...Because if I did he would go away.
We had a very stormy relationship and we were off and on for several years. Yes I ended up with a broken heart but I got over it.
Up until today I have had a few more relationships. I didn't give away my whole heart to any of them at least not openly until it was too late.
I feel that I hold back and that there's a wall I can't break down.
And now I'm feeling sorry for myself. I'm trying to look at myself as I would look at a little sister. I'm trying to take care of myself by reading about these kind of scenarios, I'm trying to figure out and to heal myself.
I think by writing it down it helps me to get a grip of who I am.
It's ok to cry and let it out. I want to see the big picture. There's a reason why I'm going through all of this. I'm just not sure why yet.

This song gives me hope and brings me to tears. I feel like someone understands me and that I'm not alone and that one day I will fix me..That's what music should feel like...

HOW TO REQUEST A SONG FROM THE BAND

When requesting a song from the band, just say "play ... my song!" We have chips implanted in our heads with an unlimited database of the favorite tunes of every patron who ever walked into a bar and all songs ever recorded so feel free to be vague, we love the challenge.

If we say we really don't remember that tune you want, we're only kidding. Bands do know every song ever recorded, so keep humming. Hum harder if need be... it helps jog the memory, or just repeat your request over and over again.

If a band tells you they do not know a song you want to hear, they either forgot they know the tune or they are just putting you on. Try singing a few words for the band. Any words will do. It also helps to scream your request from across the room several times per set followed by the phrases, "AW COME ON!" and, "YOU SUCK!"

Exaggerated hand gestures expressing disapproval from the dance floor are a big help as well, such as the thumbs down or your middle finger up put-downs are the best way to jog a band's memory. This instantly promotes you to the status of "Personal Friend Of The Band." You can bet your request will be the next song we play.

Entertainers are notorious fakers and jokesters and never really prepare for their shows. They simply walk on stage with no prior thought to what they will do once they arrive. We don't actually make set lists or rehearse songs. We mostly just wait for you to yell something out, then fake it.

An entertainer's job is so easy, even a monkey could do it, so don't let them off the hook easily. Your request is all that matters. Once you've figured out what genre of music the band plays, please make your requests from a totally different genre. The more exaggerated the better. If its a blues band playing, yell for some Metallica or Slayer or Pantera. Likewise, if its a death-speed metal band, be sure to request Brown-Eyed Girl or some Grateful Dead. Musicians need to constantly broaden their musical horizons, and its your job to see that it happens....immediately.

TALKING WITH THE BAND

The best time to discuss anything with the band in any meaningful way is at the middle of a song when all band members are singing at the same time. Our hearing is so advanced that we can pick out your tiny voice from the megawatt wall of sound blasting all around us. And we can converse with you in sign language while singing the song, so don't worry that we're in the middle of the chorus.

Musicians are expert lip readers too. If a musician does not reply to your question or comment during a tune, it's because they didn't get a good look at your mouth in order to read your lips. Simply continue to scream your request and be sure to over emphasize the words with your lips. This helps immensely. Don't be fooled. Singers have the innate ability to answer questions and sing at the same time. If the singer doesn't answer your questions immediately, regardless of how stupid the question may seem, it's because they are purposely ignoring you. If this happens, immediately cop an attitude. We love this.

IMPORTANT

When an entertainer leans over to hear you better, grab his or her head in both hands and yell directly into their ear, while holding their head securely so they cannot pull away. This will be taken as an invitation to a friendly and playful game of tug of war between their head and your hands. Don't give up! Hang on until the singer or guitar player submits. Drummers are often safe from this fun game since they usually sit in the back, protected by the guitar players. Keyboard players are protected by their instrument, and only play the game when tricked into coming from behind their keyboards. Though difficult to get them to play, it's not impossible, so keep trying. They're especially vulnerable during the break between songs.

HELPING THE BAND

If you inform the band that you are a singer, the band will appreciate your help with the next few tunes, or however long you can remain standing on stage. If you're too drunk to stand unassisted, simply lean on one of the band members or the most expensive piece of equipment you see. Just pretend you're in a Karaoke bar. Simply feel free to walk up on stage and join in. By the way, the drunker you are, the better you sound, and the louder you should sing. If by chance you fall off the stage, be sure to crawl back up and attempt to sing harmony. Keep in mind that nothing assists the band more than outrageous dancing, fifth and sixth part harmonies, or a tambourine played on one and three and out of tempo. Try the cowbell; they love the challenge. The band always needs the help and will take this as a compliment.

Finally, the microphone and PA system are merely props, they don't really amplify your voice, so when you grab the mic out of the singers hand be sure to scream into it at the top of your lungs, otherwise no one will hear what a great singer you are. Hearing is over-rated anyhow. The crowd and the sound guy will love you for it.

BONUS TIP

As a last resort, wait until the band takes a break and then get on stage and start playing their instruments. They love this. Even if you are ejected from the club, you can rest assured in the fact you have successfully completed your audition. The band will call you the following day to offer you a position

Today has been a little ruff on me for some reason..Don't ask me why I've just felt a little sad. But as I was browsing online I came across this video Wanderlust and it inspired me to write this Poem. I would like to dedicate this to Carly Henley's family. My heart goes out to them. I can't imagine what it must be like to loose someone so close to you in such a tragic way.

I Don't Care if the Fall is Here!

The leafs are turning, the air is a little crispier and the sun doesn't peep out as often. It's fall and I didn't used to like this time of year because it would remind me of heartache. Someone would always break my heart in or around September, October and so it would be painful for me to see the leafs turning and any sort of smell that related to fall and songs that was played at the time would put a needle into my heart.
I have come to realize that I'm a very emotional person. I go full hearted into anything I do. A relationship of any kind, My music, sports, acting or any type of job I don't wanna be anything less then the best. I want people to know that they can count on me. I do what I say and it hurts me when people I care about break promises.
I used to send little post cards to all my friends and family for birthdays and holidays just a little something to show them that I cared a little gesture because I don't have a lot that I can give. Then when I didn't get anything in return a "oh thank you for the card" or a note back or some kind of acknowledgment it really hurt my feelings. I tried not to care about it anymore.
It feels like over time I'm getting more inverted and a wall has come up as a shield.
So I have a long week ahead of me. Everything from guitar lessons to acting classes, movie set to photo shoots. I'm really enjoying my life right now. I'm living it the way I want to, I'm filling up my cup so to speak:) So that I can poor it out to you in the form of music.

I just released my single "I Don't Care" and my step sister Jasmine made a video with the song and lyrics so sweet of her. My family are my biggest fans and I feel so blessed.

I'm scared that I will never be able to love or trust someone again or better yet love or trust the right MAN. I thought I was a pretty good judge of character but it turns out I'm completely off. Now they come in all shapes. I didn't use to analys guys that much and I shouldn't because things are never what they seem. And it's not like I'm trying to sound negative I just have to express my true feelings. When I meet new people I don't give off the I-don't-trust-you attitude because I know how I much of a turn off that is.
The other day I was out with a friend for some Karaoke and we went outside to have a cigarette and this cute guy followed us outside to join us and he seemed like a cool guy and he was like a 3rd generation Swede so I had to give him a break *smile*. So we stand there talking for a bit and then I throw away my cigarette and it happens to fall down into a street drain and this guy's face changed from happy to unhappy and he says "That goes out into the lake" he turnes around and walks in.. and I felt really bad like I was in trouble or something. I looked at my friend with a surprised face. Then we walk back in, to sing some more songs and this guy walks up to me and asks me for my number. Surprised and a little stressed because they just called my name to sing another Karaoke song. I try to scramble for a pen but he just pulls out his phone. I gave him my number. Then later on that night he texts me. We had a little conversation going back and forth with texts and it was getting a little late so I politely said that we could perhaps continue the conversation tomorrow and he answers "yay Mythbusters".. I'm gonna tell you why this is a turn off... He was expecting me to not text him the next day so why even try? I can see a train wreck coming from miles away so I didn't go any further with that situation and he was lucky because I don't give out my number very easily.
What I'm trying to say is I don't wanna be "that guy" that assumes the worst but for now I'm just gonna lay low on dating. Don't think I'm ready for that as of yet.

...And that's a lot of information. I'm an open book what can I say...

Follow Your Heart

"...our hearts may actually be the
'intelligent force' behind the intuitive
thoughts and feelings we all experience."
Throughout the ages, the heart has been referred to as a source of not only virtue and love, but also of intelligence. One of the most prevalent themes in ancient traditions and inspirational writing is the heart as a flowing spring of intelligence.

Many ancient cultures, including the Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Babylonian, and Greek, assert that the heart is the primary organ responsible for influencing and directing our emotions and our decision-making ability. Similar perspectives of the heart as a source of intelligence are found in Hebrew, Christian, Chinese, Hindu, and Islamic traditions. For example, the Old Testament saying in Proverbs 23:7, "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he," is further developed in the New Testament in Luke 5:22, "What reason ye in your hearts?"

The characteristic of balance and the attainment of bodily equilibrium are also recognized as the essence of Yoga traditions, which identifies the heart as the seat of individual consciousness and the center of life. In traditional Chinese medicine, the heart is seen as the connection between the mind and the body, forming a bridge between the two.

Even with all these traditions and colorful heart metaphors, most of us have been taught that the heart is just a ten-ounce muscle that pumps blood and maintains circulation until we die. Medical science asserts that the brain rules all of the body's organs, including the heart. However, it is interesting to note that the heart starts beating in the unborn fetus even before the brain has been formed.

Neuroscientists have recently discovered exciting new information about the heart that makes us realize it's far more complex than we'd ever imagined. Instead of simply pumping blood, it may actually direct and align many systems in the body so that they can function in harmony with one another.

These scientists have found that the heart has its own independent nervous system – a complex system referred to as "the brain in the heart." There are at least forty thousand neurons (nerve cells) in the heart – as many as are found in various subcortical centers of the brain.

The heart communicates with the brain and the rest of the body in three ways documented by solid scientific evidence: neurologically (through transmissions of nerve impulses), biochemically (through hormones and neurotransmitters), and biophysically (through pressure waves). In addition, growing scientific evidence suggests that the heart may communicate with the brain and body in a fourth way – energetically (through electromagnetic field interactions). Through these biological communication systems, the heart has a significant influence on the function of our brains and all our Systems.

This new scientific evidence shows that the heart uses these methods to send our brain extensive emotional and intuitive signals. Along with this understanding that the heart is in constant communication with the brain, scientists are discovering that our hearts may actually be the "intelligent force" behind the intuitive thoughts and feelings we all experience.

Thanks to the discovery of heart intelligence, with its premise of the heart as a primary source of emotions, we have a new paradigm for understanding our emotions. With the strong scientific tie established between our wellness factor through emotional management. The more we learn to listen to and follow our heart intelligence, the more educated, balanced, and coherent our emotions become. And it naturally follows that the more balanced and coherent our emotions become, the less likely we will be to experience sickness and disease.

Because of the ever growing scientific research on heart intelligence, it may be time we developed a new personal attitude about following our hearts."

Tips for learning to recognize our heart's intelligence:

Think positive thoughts throughout the day to increase your personal energy.
Our internal power, or the amount of physical, mental, and emotional energy we have, is a determining factor in the quality of our lives. Internal power translates into vitality and resiliency. Positive thoughts and feelings add energy to our system. Negative thoughts and feelings deplete our personal energy.

Encourage your deepest heart feelings.
There are many positive heart feelings including love, compassion, nonjudgment, courage, patience, sincerity, forgiveness, appreciation, gratitude, and care. Experiencing these feelings increases synchronization and coherence in our heart's rhythmic patterns. Each of these heart feelings has a powerful, beneficial effect on how we relate to life.

Reduce your stress.
The less stress we feel, the less internal confusion we will experience, and the easier it will be to hear our heart's intelligence. When we are relaxed, we don't need to strain our body to stay focused and productive.

Focus on recognizing your heart's intelligence and realize the importance of listening to it before making choices.
The brain operates in a linear, logical manner that works great for many problems but can limit us in others. Often we need more than logic to solve a problem, especially if it is an emotional one.

Heart intelligence provides us with an intuitive awareness that is expanded beyond linear, logical thinking. As a result, our perspective usually becomes more flexible, creative, and comprehensive.

Use meditation or calm, quiet moments to reflect on your heart's intelligence and listen for intuitive thoughts.
Make time each day to sit quietly and focus on your heart. Imagine you are breathing through your heart. Calm your mind. Try to not think of anything but breathing through your heart. When your mind is clear, you will begin to receive impressions and ideas. These are coming from your heart. Pay attention.

Hanging With The SeaHawks - Jennifer Newberry

Just some footage of an evening out and about. Stopped by a bar where there was an charity event going on handled by Nesby a former Seahawk player.

Nesby Lee Glasgow (born April 15, 1957 in Los Angeles, California) is a former professional American football safety who played 14 seasons in the National Football League from 1979 to 1992. Glasgow attended the University of Washington and was recognized as part of the Century Team at the University of Washington.
In his career, Glasgow amassed 9 sacks and 15 interceptions for 189 yards. As a punt returner he had 80 Returns for 651 Yards and 1 Touchdown and as a kickoff returner he had 85 returns for 1,906 Yards.
After football Nesby Glasgow served in various position with the Indianapolis Colts as well as the Seattle Seahawks.
In 2004 Nesby directed the Eastside Hawks, a semi-professional football team based out of Kirkland, Washington to a National Championship win over the Central Penn Piranhas.
Nesby remains committed to the community and now coaches at Juanita High School in Kirkland, Washington.

July 4th 2010- Some Down Time in Ocean Shores

Finally some down time. It's important to be able to recharge your batteries. Everyone does it differently but for me it's to spend quality time with family. This year I wanted to have my 4th of July off because the last 3 years I've been performing somewhere and I wasn't able to enjoy the holiday. This year I performed at the Tacoma Freedom Fair but it was for 90 min during the day so I was able to enjoy the rest evening. I love performing don't get me wrong but I enjoy being lazy sometimes too:)
It's been a busy week from rehearsing Theater, finishing up the recording of my upcoming music video, opening up fo Nate Jackson's Super Funny Comedy Show, Driving down to Ocean Shores, Driving back up to Tacoma for the Freedom Fair to driving back down to Ocean Shores to see the fire works on the beach. We also had some sun peaking out and when that happens in Ocean Shores it needs to be documented! I think I got a little color too :D

Sitting on the couch at my dad's house in Ocean Shores watching a VCR version of Braveheart (don't ask me how it still works). Family all around. The guys paying attention to the TV and the girls chatting in the kitchen debating if we should stop by Forks the home land of Twilight:) YES we are big fans and I've been there once but doesn't hurt to go again. I still haven't seen the "Eclipse". I didn't even realize it was out already!

Anyways..They want me to be social now so I have to get off the computer.

June going on July..

June is coming to it's end and I'm not sure where these 6 months of the year went. Time just flew by!
Today has been a nice day. I didn't get a chance to see my dad for father's day so I decided to spend some time with him and the family for a day. Woke up took a shower, helped one of my little sisters to put some make up on. I like doing that stuff:) The sun was out today for the first time in a long time so we decided to go outside to try out my sister's new "Ripstik". I don't understand how they don't kill them selfs on that thing. I tried it once and I couldn't steer it even if my life depended on it. So I thought that we should probably just play some basket ball. It's been a while. I think we tied though, wasn't counting but she nearly beat my a**. It was so hot and I didn't want to get too hot *smile*. For lunch we went downtown Olympia to sit out side by the water had some sea food and ice cream for dessert. Ice cream is a must in the summer!

June 17, Last Thursday I performed on stage during a Juneteenth community celebration hosted by the Atlantic Street Center at the Rainier Beach Community Center and there was a nice article online about it written by Joshua Trujillo/seattlepi.com Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates African American freedom from slavery, while emphasizing education and. This is the 10th year the Atlantic Street Center has hosted the celebration in Seattle and I felt really honored to be apart of it. Special Thanks to Tony B from Musica, Clearwater and Emoree for taking care of me.

So I'm working on my very first music video and this coming weekend I'm shooting two more days. I'm really excited to see how it turns out. I'm happy to say that DUCATI - is going to be sponsoring with a motor cycle and some motor cycle gear. Motage Live is helping to film the video and StriveMC is helping to direct it. Also special thanks to Paul Meyers Photostudio for letting us use their spot for the first shoot and Ava Fernandes for designing one of my outfits. Rajahna Perez for styling my hair and Stephanie for doing my make up. I am very thankful to be working with everyone and I'm really proud to have my manager Jose Luis making sure everything is going in the right direction and Troy for being a rock assisting us along the way. I Lots of things are going on and it's hard ot keep up.

I'm also rehearsing for a play that's going to be premiering July 31st at the Showare Center in Kent, WA. I haven't been in a play in a long time but it's my first love and I'm happy to be doing it again. Please show some support by showing up to the Premier!

The Month of May

It's the month of May, my favorite month of the year not just because it's my birthday month but because it's when you can feel that summer is just around the corner. The flowers are blooming, it's getting warmer, people are coming out of their houses cutting their lawns...

I'm feeling like my life is falling into place. I'm taking opportunities coming my way, I'm going for it, no stopping. Someone gave me some really good advise a few months back when I was feeling a little down and out. To start doing things that makes me happy. Even if it's just little things. She asked me what makes you shine, what is it that makes you truly happy?
And I had to sit back and think for a while.

I love the early morning sun with a cup of coffee, but I tend to sleep in a lot so I have to change my sleeping habits. I like fresh air and being out side so I try to be outside even if it's for 15 minutes a day. I feel happy with myself when I'm fit but I'm not very fond of exercising but to get to that level of happiness I have to exercise...there's just no way around it. I love to drive around in my car listening to music... and the list goes on. And just by acknowledging the things that I love I'm a much happier person. It takes work to make yourself happy just like it takes work to make someone else in a relationship happy. You are in a relationship with yourself for the rest of your life so you might as well start working on it. If you're not happy how can you make someone else happy. That's just my take on it.

I've been apart of some really exciting things lately. I've performed at some big venues in Seattle through Seattle Fashion Week performing at the kick off party at the Hard Rock Cafe, May 7th and being the opening act for SFW at WaMu Theater May 13th. I performed at Showbox Sodo, April 19th and at Columbia City Theater January 18th and January 29th. I performed at the Kirkland Performance Center in Kirkland with the band Ajalon, April 1st and performed with them again in Gettysburg Pennsylvania for the RoSFest of Progressive Rock May 1st. I've been apart of a Census 2010 music video and radio commercial. I am now supposed to be in a play that's going to be premièring in July. I'm starting school in September, at the Cornish College of The Arts majoring in composing and vocals. I think this is going to be very exciting and a great investment for my carrier. Can't wait!

I am really looking forward to this weekend because I'm going away with my coverband 4 More to Sequim to play at 7 Cedars Casino. We have our hotel rooms paid for and we make it into a weekend get away. So it's more like a vacation. Show starts at 9.30 by the way and it's ALWAYS free to come watch us.

I'm almost finished with my album "Inspiration From The Rain" and I'm trying to figure out ways to gather some money to help release it. So My step mom, Gina and I (mostly Gina) tried to design some T-Shirts to sell online. They are now available to purchase online on my Reverbnation.com/jennifernewberrymusic page. RosFest - Gettysburg, PA - Ajalon - May 1st 2010
